Sorry, Bear, I was the lone vote for staying at sea. But you’re back! Hooray! Can’t wait to see you. You brought the Nerka back with you?
Don’t apologize, dude… When I’m too broke for writers’ happy hours in February, you can tsk-tsk and remind me that we could’ve fished another week. 🙂 Yep, the Nerka’s here, looking appallingly ragged around her edges. The past six months definitely wore on her, as they did the rest of us.
SO excited to see you, too!
Welcome to the calm!
Thanks, Karla! You wouldn’t have believed what an amazingly beautiful trip we had. No stabies from Sumner Strait all the way to B’ham, except for a brief time across Queen Charlotte. Hard to believe one of our best trips south took place in late September! Hope all’s good for you, Al and the kids.
Glad you’re back safe and sound Tele, hope the trip went well. Maybe we’ll see you two at expo. Norm
It was an amazingly beautiful, enjoyable trip, Norm. Really glad that we decided to leave with Martin, had a good time running together. Was such a good time visiting with you and your crew our last night in Sitka, too — thanks for that! We’ll definitely look for you at Expo. If you go on Thursday the 29th, there’ll be a Fisher Poets show midday, be great to see you there. Hope you’re home and happy, too, friend!
Welcome home! Glad you’re both back safe and sound.See you at Expo, if not before. If you get down this way, let us know!
Thanks, Pat! I’m super-excited for Expo and joining the Fisher Poet crew again. Can’t wait to see the bunch of you.
Well, I’M SORT OF JEALOUS. Talked to Greg and Amy about their trip down. I’m glad it went well for you too. Still in Oregon, the weather has gotten ratty NW and the fishing has gotten spotty. Ran over a crab pot and it got into the starboard side, lost the inside deep and stripped the tip and float, lost a 60 and a 50. Jonathan just slid into Newport from tuna. He had an experience to quote him. Nice on the beach, was at least 68 today. Got to go to Juneau next weekend for ATA board, not looking forward to cold rain after this long long summer.
Is there a fisher poet at expo gathering? I suppose I’d better figure out if I can attend.
ciao!
Oh man, Joel… I’m sorry to hear of the misadventures! No bueno; sounds like you need some furry time with Lucy and Dinghy. As for Jonathan, “an experience” is never good.. Glad he got some tuna, at least.
In more positive news, why YES, there IS a Fisher Poets Gathering at this year’s Expo! We’ll be 11:30 to 1 pm on Thursday the 29th, and the line-up is Pat Dixon, Dave Densmore, Dano Quinn, Abigail Culkin, Tom Hilton, and me. It’d be WONDERFUL to see you there. Until then, big hugs, best wishes, and gratitude for your board work.
